Coiffures by Shawn now offers beauty supplies too!

I am pleased to report the exciting news that the stylish "West End Girl," shown above, strolling confidently with her handsome black poodle in the holiday window at Coiffures by Shawn, will no longer have to leave the CWE for her favorite hair products and latest hair accessories. Gregory Smith, shown below, who purchased the salon at 312 N. Euclid seventeen years ago from the late Shawn and forever gorgeous Sylvia Salih, recognized a huge need for a beauty supply store in the Central West End. So, he cleverly adapted his space plan and transformed the front of the salon into a small but well-stocked store.

On the shelves you'll find the full Redken line, Paul Mitchell, Pureology (a totally vegan line popular with health-conscious CWEnders), Deva Curl, Kevin.Murphy (the dot is not a mistake), Biolage Matrix, MOP, Crew for Men products and more, all at comparable prices to what you'll find elsewhere. The full product line is listed on the website.

And to further entice you, Coiffures by Shawn offers curb service! Call 30 minutes ahead, place your order, and your products will be run out to your car--or in this weather, your sleigh-- when you arrive. 

 

Gift sets of hair products and stocking stuffers such as Crew for Men Shaving Cream, $13.99, are available at Coiffures by Shawn for the holidays. The "hot" hair product du jour is Moroccan Oil, shown in the orange box right, $60. The set includes shampoo, two different treatments, and everyday conditioner.

The salon staff can also help you build a gift set by suggesting products from different lines that can be combined to work best with the recipient's hair type. This Spring the salon will offer an "experience center" so you can try out a hair dryer or curling iron before making a purchase.

Greg said it has been fun to watch the reaction to their holiday window, designed by Sean Sweeny. One day he watched a blond woman walk by with a black poodle, and when she glimpsed at the window she did a double-take and smiled. We should all be smiling now, knowing  we have another reason to shop local, in this case at a neighborhood business that has been a fixture since the Salilh's first opened it four decades ago.
